In Pescasseroli, in the heart of the National Park of Abruzzo, in one of the most enchanting mountain areas of Italy: the wild scenic beauty and the incredible variety of flora and fauna.
On a large plain, at 1.167 m above sea level, in a dry and healthy climate, Villa Mon Repos Hotel is the right place for a summer stay and for winter sports, but also for spring and fall holidays.
The Hotel, belonging to the Berardini-Decian family, was built in late Art Nouveau style: the villa was designed by Erminio Sipari, the original owner, and built at the beginning of last century.
The original owner was the founder of P.N.A.
and uncle from mother's side of the great philosopher Benedetto Croce, who was born in Pescasseroli.
It has been told that Croce spent hours meditating and walking around the area, smelling of musks, rhododendrons and maples; and that he knocked every day at five o'clock at this villa's door to have tea and biscuits with his ant.
It seems that the project of the villa is a smaller version of a similar construction owned by Engineer Sipari, built on the coast of Liguria as summer house of the family.
The villa had been inhabited since 1950 and il came out to be very ruined and decadent.
The selling and restoration of the villa, gave new start to the restyling of the area and of the town.
The restoration, keeping the same structures and materials, was attended by Liberata Berardini and Antonio Decina, the owners.
The park was kept unaltered, with its old high trees, just adding evergreen beds on a beautiful green lawn.
The hotel, the trees and the paths of the park are embellished by a beautiful outdoor illumination.
The hotel, with such fine and comfortable rooms and comfort, being small so that with a simple organization we take good care of the client, represents the best offer in Pescasseroli and in the National Park of Abruzzo.
