By outer-city bus you reach Terminal Recanati in Giardini Naxos in under an hour (fare 10 euros).
- With a private taxi you can reach the Hotel Villa Linda directly.
The distance between the airport of Catania and the Giardini Naxos is about 45 km (reservation at the hotel costs around 80 Euros).
- With a rental car take the A18 motorway towards Messina and exit at Giardini Naxos.
From there, follow the signs to the tourist area "Recanati" (2 mile).
Once in the area continue in the direction of all hotels until you see the sign for the Hotel Villa Linda.
By train Trains coming from Rome and northern Italy towards Siracusa and Agrigento, stop at the railway station "Taormina-Giardini Naxos," which is about 3 km from the center of Giardini Naxos.
To reach the Hotel Villa Linda station you can take the bus terminal stop Recanati or a private taxi (cost about 20 euros).
By bus The bus company "Interbus" travels between Rome and the main cities of Sicily with Giardini Naxos.
By car From Messina or Catania, take the A18 motorway and exit at Giardini Naxos.

Founded in 581 BC by cretan colonists from Rhodes and the nearby Gela, Akragas quickly became one of the most important cities of Magna Graecia, in Sicily, second only to Syracuse.
The urban area had a width of 456 hectares and was surrounded by fortification walls
with nine entrances.
The population was about 300,000 inhabitants and was considered
"The most beautiful city of mortals."
In 210 BC it was sacked by the Roman Empire and subjugated for centuries by it, but experiences later the invasion and rebuilding by the Arabs, who rebuilt the city on top of the hill where today one can admire the historical center characterized by the typical Arab conformation, with its small alleys and courtyards that converge on the Via Atenea, and that even today can be considered the most important artery of the city.

The city of Catania was founded in 729 BC with the name of Katane that in Sicilian means "cheese grater", "rendering plant" (from the lava ground on which it stands) and was one of the first Greek colonies in Sicily.
It was conquered by the Romans in 263 BC who left the architectural remains of Augustus.
After the Byzantine era there was the Arab ruling and then the Normands, who brought many changes and innovations in the city, as, for example, the cathedral and the numerous monasteries.
With the Aragonese the city experienced a period of recovery and cultural growth.
In this period came the first university in the island.
The subsequent Spanish ruling and the devastating earthquake of 1693, the land sank into a severe economic crisis.

The Alcantara, one of the four main rivers in Sicily, which goes around the northern slopes of the volcano and flows to Naxos in the Ionian Sea, offers a charming picturesque landscape that gives rise to irregular flows of water that are now sweet (with beautiful lakes ) now rushing (with beautiful waterfalls).
