HOTEL RAVESI

A small and charming hotel, located among the greenery of the island of Salina, the result of a careful restoration of an old Aeolian village.
The Hotel, which is located at the centre of the residential area in Malfa, has 14 rooms with panoramic views that are charmingly furnished and have every comfort.
You can admire the most charming view on the island from the large overflow swimming pool: terraced hills.
The Giovi valley, which faces two giant lava mounds immersed in the sea, Panarea and Stromboli.
Immersed in the greenery of its gardens, a short distance from the sea and all the main services, the Hotel Ravesi offers its guests moments of absolute relaxation, to give them an unforgettable holiday.

The Hotel Ravesi has 14 comfortable rooms furnished in a sombre and simple fashion, thereby maintaining the typical characteristics of old Aeolian dwellings.Two kinds of rooms are offered: Standard Garden View and De Luxe Sea View.
Standard Garden View Rooms are located on ground floor and have a garden view terrace (sometimes to share).
De Luxe Sea View Rooms are both on ground floor and first floor and have sea/pool view balcony or terrace (sometimes to share).
Some of Standard Garden View Rooms have handicapped access bathrooms.

The Ravesi hotel‘s bar, which is in an elegant and charming location, is characterised by its splendid overflow swimming pool which has the sea and the sky in the background, on which the islands of Panarea and Stromboli seem to float.
From breakfast to lunches with the strong and intense flavours of Sicilian cuisine, to a usual aperitif, the bar is a reference point for our guests.
In the magic atmosphere of the garden adjacent to the swimming pool, our guests are often enchanted by the strong eruptions on Stromboli and its classic white plume effect.
In the evenings, the Ravesi becomes a meeting point for the entire Island.
An aperitif accompanied by musical performances by artists known throughout Italy, with dancing, cocktails and the flavours of Aeolian cuisine, is now a must.

Staying at the Hotel Ravesi means visiting an important place in the history of the island of Salina.
In fact, the hotel is the result of an authentic restoration of an old location owned by the Ravesi family.
The main part of the building was built in the XIX century.
A number of dwellings for domestic and farmhouse use were built next to the original building.
The farmhouses were transformed into small mills for making agricultural and fish products.
Because of this the characteristics of Aeolian architecture can be seen, such as covered terraces (bagghju), which have roofs made from wooden beams supported by wide columns (called pulera) and a stone bench (called bisuolu) covered by old eighteenth century Napoleonic and Sicilian tiling.
There are also eaves made from baked stone (called catusieri) for collecting water, and old washhouses (in stacks).
The hotel‘s bar is dug out of an old farm lodge, which was used for making wine and malvasia, adjacent to a raised kitchen with its characteristic cufulara and a wood-fired, which is now small but well equipped library, in which you will be able to appreciate reading while enjoying a good breakfast or a cool aperitif.
Also, the hotel borders on the central Immacolata church, and via its garden is directly connected to the square of the same name, which has shops, offices, a bank, bar and restaurants; it is only a few hundred metres from the small Scalo Galera port and Punta Scario beach.


The Island of Salina...
Salina is unique.
In fact, it‘s difficult to imagine anywhere else in the world where, along with the charm of a deep blue sea, beaches and small breathtaking settings, there is a volcano almost a thousand metres in height, covered in very thick vegetation.
It is a refuge for queen falcons and buzzards from which you can enjoy the enchanting scenery of the archipelago of the Aeolian islands, where on a clear day you can see right up to the northern cost of Sicily and even the majestic Etna.
