Hierakon nesos, Hawks Island, is the ancient name of the island of San Pietro, given to it by the Greeks, owing to the presence of a great number of hawks and falcons currently known as the Queen‘s falcons, which still inhabit the cliffs of the island today as they did centuries ago.
