The Hotel
The Hotel stands in the heart of Vezzano Ligure, an ancient, medieval village placed in the hills at the back of the famous, wonderful Cinque Terre.
Our guests can then enjoy the perfumes and the peace of the countryside but also the uniqueness and the marvels of our unforgettable seaside.
Before the minute restoration the hotel was the cloister of the adjoining Church of S.
Maria Assunta: today stay at Al Convento allows the guest to go back in time and discover again those sensations, those distant scents and that human heat that will turn the stay into a memorable revival of the past.
The nice furnishing makes each room cosy and warm and the guest can‘t avoid to be attracted by this charming atmosphere.
At the reception guests can rely on the help of a qualified staff with a perfect knowledge of foreign languages.
From June to September the genuine, continental breakfast is served in the outdoor, pretty terrace whereas in the Italian garden guests can relax in absolute quiet and privacy.
Our guests can choose to dine at our restaurant “Locanda del Viandante”, where they can try the delicious dishes of the excellent local cuisine and drink the selected DOC wines of the region.
The wide choice of courses will surely satisfy every taste!
Vezzano Ligure
Vezzano Ligure is in a strategic position: just above Sarzana, it attracted the attention of many local and foreign powers, which conquered the town and left traces of their dominion in Vezzano's churches and buildings.
Those who love history and culture will find Vezzano a perfect starting point for excursions in the area.
Starting from Vezzano Superiore (the higher part of Vezzano) it is possible to see the remains of a big medieval castle and the old belfry of Saints Siro and Prospero's church.
In the lower part of the town, the ancient structure of the village is revealed by a number of concentric narrow roads.
Then the splendid seaside resorts surrounding the Gulf of the Poets can easily be reached from the village: Lerici, Portovenere, the Palmaria Island, the Cinque Terre are only at few Kilometres.
THE SURROUNDINGS
Starting from the Gulf of La Spezia we can shortly reach Portovenere, the Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto Islands and the limpid marine Cinque Terre Park.
The Cinque Terre are the ideal place for fantastic walks, excursion, trekking and exciting dips in the splendid Liguria Sea.

2, better known as the Sentiero Azzurro (Blue Path), is one of the most appreciated pedestrian routes of the whole peninsula, both because it does not present particular difficulties and because of the many delightful views given to the millions of walkers in every season of the year.
This is an itinerary which already existed in medieval times (except the segment which coincides with the Via dell‘Amore (Walk of Love), dating back to 1900): for centuries it was the only road that put in communication the inhabitants of the coast.
From the Sentiero Azzurro start then a lot of mule-tracks which go up to the crest of the hill, tracing a tight network of routes crossing the dry stone walls, the little villages and the Santuari (Sanctuaries).
Even though it is possible to walk along the path in a single day, in order to gather better the spirit of the Cinque Terre it is recommended to split up the walk into different legs.
How to reach us:
Exit at the A12 or A15 tollbooth in La Spezia-Santo Stefano and continue along the freeway towards La Spezia.
After 800 metres take the Vezzano Ligure exit.
At the crossing with the Aurelia highroad turn left and after few metres you will be at a small roundabout: take there the second exit and after few metres turn left again and drive to Vezzano Ligure village.
Our hotel is just under the Church.
In front of the hotel there is a Check-in Area where you can park your car to bring the luggage in your room.
Then you should move your car to the free public parking over the church at only 80 metres.
