The name of the residence, "In Urbe", is a latin expression meaning the part of a town within ancient walls.
Here, within an historical medieval complex, seven lovely apartments have been refurbished respecting the ancient umbrian traditions
Flanking Via Giulia, they have been externally lined with the typical rose stone of the Subasio mountain.
The floors are rustic and the furniture made of wood .
Artistic prints of famous authors decorate the white walls which are enlivened with bare stone, arches and niches, witnesses of ancient dwelling needs.
Each apartment also offer stunning views, spanning from the Subasio to the hills of Spoleto and Montefalco.
The bathrooms are decorated with Deruta‘s (a nearby village) ceramics and well-finished in marble.
A small, fully equipped kitchen completes the apartment.
All the apartments have independent heating, colour television with two channels in foreign language and telephone with direct external line.

How to arrive to the In Urbe's office:
- If you arriving from Milano
MOTORWAY A1 MI-RM exit VALDICHIANA.
After the tollhouse, turn right and, after 1 Km, turn left and take the four-lane motorway N.75 BIS direction PERUGIA - ASSISI - FOLIGNO.
Continue following the direction Assisi - Foligno and, 10 KM after the exit for Assisi - S.M.
degli Angeli, exit at SPELLO CENTRO.
- Alternative if you arriving from MILANO (advised)
At Bologna leave the A1motorway and take the A14 , direction Ancona.
At the first exit for CESENA take the N71 motorway, direction BAGNO di ROMAGNA - PERUGIA - ROMA ,that after BAGNO di R.
become N3bis; close to PERUGIA take the N75 motorway, direction ASSISI - SPELLO -FOLIGNO.
Continue following the direction Assisi - Foligno and, 10 KM after the exit for Assisi - S.M.
degli Angeli, exit at SPELLO CENTRO.
- If you arriving from Roma
MOTORWAY A1 RM-MI Exit ORTE, just after the toolhouse, turn right direction TERNI - SPOLETO - FOLIGNO.
Continue following this motorway, the N° 204, that after Terni becomes a two-lane motorway (N° 3).
After Spoleto, Trevi and Sant'Eraclio exit at the sign SPELLO - ASSISI.
After about 5 Km exit SPELLO CENTRO.
- If you arriving from Bari
MOTORWAY A14 Bari - BO Exit Civitanova Marche,
Follow the direction Macerata - Foligno.
Follow the sign Foligno for 56 Km
At the traffic lights turn right, direction Assisi - Perugia
After 1,5 Km take the slip road direction Assisi - Perugia
After 5 Km take the slip road for Spello Centre.
After the exit for SPELLO CENTRO
follow the signs for the historical centre (there's always free access for the tourists who have to go to the hotels or apartments) until PIAZZA DELLA REPUBBLICA (the principal square of the town with a big fountain, call also Piazza del Comune), turn right at the slope , where is the one-way, after 100 m starts Via Giulia.
Covering Via Giulia for about 100 m, you will find a small parking on the left and, few m.
further on, ther is the office (at the number 97 ).
If you coulden't stop at the small parking, continue for 100/150 m.
and you will find another parking; go again along the street that you have just cover with your car and at the n.
97 you'll find the office of the apartments for holidays In Urbe.

Sits on a green hill at 280 m of height rising on the valley that embraces Foligno and Spoleto, so much loved by Saint Francis, inspiring : "I never saw anything better" .
In Spello the richest patrimony in Umbria of ruins of roman settlement can be found; an example is the main door on which is carved the sentence "the Most splendid Julia colony", in order to remember the love that Cesar Augusto always nourished for this small town.
Over the roman rests, were later on (14th/15th century) built buildings of various nature which represent the richness of Spello.
It‘s extremely pleasant to wander around, discovering unexpected foreshortening, little squares, gardens enclosed within the ancient walls and entire medieval quarters.
Numerous are the artistic works of famous painters such as Pinturicchio ("Annunciation", "Nativity"," Dispute of Jesus with the Doctors", "Madonna with Child").
Spello offers both the treasures enclosed within its walls, and, moreover, it makes a great base for exploring Umbria being set in a strategic position between Foligno and Assisi.
Moreover, in the ancient Hispellum, even remaining near the city (Foligno is only 5 Km far), we can plunge into the nature, in a quite place, where the traditions are respected with love, where simple things can still be enjoyed like the genuine products of the ancient Umbrian kitchen as well as the good local wine.
A milestone in Spello‘s tradition is the Infiorata, a feast which involves all the community in producing artistic masterpieces with dried local flowers arranged on pavements and roads all around the town.
