Raggiolo country is a medieval village, near Arezzo (Tuscany),with ancient fortifications and small houses with tiny gardens.
The country has preserved perfectly his original characteristics.
In the lower part of the country there are two streams: Teggina and Borro Barbozzaia that come down from Pratomagno.
“THE ANCIENT STONES”
In the past in Raggiolo country, every house had a “seccatoio” where the chestnut were dessicated and then were transported to the mill.
“The ancient stones” that‘s all: the house with her seccatoio.
The complex , wisely and faithfully restored is composed by “Petra House” and her seccatoio “Zerbino‘s house”.
Petra house owe the name to the stone where is been builted.
Zerbino‘s house owe the name to the first owner.

Indipendent house it has been completely built with stone and has a wonderful panoramic view.
It has got double entrance, a little court and adjacent small green corner.
Three room: sitting room/kitchen on the first floor, bedroom with wardrobe and bathroom on the second floor, bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor.

PLACES TO VISIT:
ECOMUSEUM OF CHESTNUSTS
It is located in Raggiolo‘s centre.
There are a lot of stands dedicated to the chestnut-crop, to working them and building of a will and a seccatoio (place where ancient was roasted the chestnut).
CASENTINES NATIONAL WOOD PARK
It consists in various wood of oak, chestnut-trees, fir-trees and beech-trees lived by deers, roe-deers, fallow-deers and big predators like wolves and real eagles.
POPPI VILLAGE
The village, decorated with the title of one of the most beautiful boroughs of Italy, is dominated by the great ’mole‘ of the Guidi Counts‘ Castle built in XIII century.
There are a lot of oher beautiful castle to visit in Casentino valley.
RELIGIOUS PLACES
Saint Micheal church, Saint Mattew and Margareth Church in Raggiolo country.
ENJOYED ACTIVITIES
It‘s possible to visit wood‘s streets and paths in mountain-bike;make long footing into the nature; find out and take mushrooms in the woods.

INDICATIONS FROM THE NORTH OF ITALY BY CAR:
Highway A14 Bologna-Cesena
E45 junction Bagni di Romagna, directions for Casentino, Passo dei Mandrioli, Badia Prataglia, Soci, Bibbiena.
Then take a right to Poppi few miles before you get to Bibbiena town.
As soon as you‘ll get to the first roundabout, follow the indications to Raggiolo and take the second exit to Raggiolo, drive 10Km straight and you‘ll be arrived.
Highway A1 Bologna - Firenze
Exit at the junction Firenze Sud towards Pontassieve, follow the SR70 road following the directions for Casentino.
When you‘ll be arrived to a town named Borgo alla Collina, follow the indications to get either to Ponte a Poppi or Bibbiena.
Take the exit to Raggiolo at the first roundabout, drive 10 km and you‘ll be arrived.
INDICATIONS FROM THE SOUTH OF ITALY BY CAR:
Highway A1 Roma - Firenze
Exit at the junction Arezzo, take the SR71 road following the indications to Casentino or Bibbiena.
Follow the indications to Poppi at the first roundabout you‘ll get to before you reach Bibbiena town.
Take the exit to Raggiolo at the second roundabout you‘ll get to, then drive 10Km and you‘ll be arrived.
E45 road from the South:
Exit at the Arezzo Città di Castello junction following the indications to Monterchi or Arezzo.
Take the “tangenziale”, main road when you‘ll reach Arezzo and get into the SR 71 road following the direction for Casentino or Bibbiena.
Follow the indications to Poppi at the first roundabout you‘ll get to before you reach Bibbiena town.
Take the exit to Raggiolo at the second roundabout you‘ll get to, then drive 10Km and you‘ll be arrived.

How to get to “LE ANTICHE PIETRE” HOLIDAY HOUSE
Drive for 100 meters after you‘ll find the the signal “Raggiolo”, then take a left in Aldo Moro street.
Drive moreover 50 meters until you‘ll reach a little square where you can park your car.
You are just in front of Molino street then, walk up hill and after few meters you‘ll find us.
