The Masseria, namely farmhouse, “ The Palmentelle ”, plunged in the heart and the warm colours of the Salento countryside, is a typical farmhouse with an agricultural business of 4 hectares which, still preserving its ancient characteristics, has been recently renovated.
Our main vocation is the olive grove, then to sow the land and a small mixed orchard (pears, catches, apricots, medlar trees, figs, prickly pears, persimmons, cherry trees and almond trees) whose fruits not consummated are transformed in delicate and exquisite natural jams; in the same way the surplus of the vegetables comes preserved for the consumption outside season by the traditional methods of the pasteurization.
The unit of the house is the “ Palmento ” namely the place where the wine was done in handicraft manner from the end of 19th century until 20 years ago, to the centre of which reign the two large baths in “ leccese ” stone where the grapes were pressed.
Guests have the choice of three solutions:
The spacious rooms Land and Air, and the two-room apartment Fire, each with independent entrance and private bath.
In the same time “ The Palmentelle ” is near to Lecce, 5 km, and about 20 km far from the Adriatic and Ionic coasts of Salento.
Your resident hosts are available to advise on the local area and attractions.
