B&B ZENZERO & CANNELLA

Located in the heart of Trieste along with the historic buildings of Borgo Teresiano, the Grand Canal, the churches and synagogues and Trieste‘s characteristic theater and historic café culture comes “Zenzero&Cannella” (Ginger & Cinnamon): an environment to experience-- elegant, warm and welcoming, where spices are at home in the thematic decor of the spaces they inspire.
In the shadow of the crane of the Port, where these same spices once arrived from the East with other exotic products (coffee, saffron, tobacco), the tradition of flavor and fragrance continues and finds new expression at “Zenzero&Cannella.”

Each room has its own specific atmosphere where color and aroma blend to create a unique sensation.
Mandarin, juniper and green peppercorn: each room has all the comforts of a hotel, and the warm atmosphere of home-- with all of the peace and tranquility for a stay to remember and recommend.
Large windows in each room provide guests with a pleasant view of the Piazza below and the hills nearby: double glass windows guarantee protection from city noise.

Rooms are cleaned and towels are changed daily, sheets are changed every 3 days.
Our B&B is offers guests full autonomy-- keys are provided at arrival until departure.
Parking is available in a nearby parking area for those arriving by car.
Guests may request shuttle service to/from the airport, train station and or other destinations.
The staff is at your disposal to organize guided tours, lunches and dinners in restaurants offering local fare and for any other request you may have in order to make your stay as pleasant and worry-free as possible.

Guests enjoy our abundant breakfast in a common space with other guests or in the privacy of your own room.
Coffee consists of espresso coffee, hot and cold milk, tea, fruit juice, bread, butter, jam, spreadable chocolate, hard toast, cereal, muesli, yogurt, pastries and cookies.
A savory breakfast is available upon request.
Our staff is sensitive to the needs of guests with food allergies and intolerances and can even provide gluten-free products upon request.

Directions: by car:
- From Venice and the A4 highway or from Udine (border with Austria) on the A23 Highway, after the Lisert toll continue to the exit Trieste Sistiana-Strada Costiera.
After exiting, continue along the SS/SR14 to the city center.
Once you reach Piazza Libertà/Trieste Centrale Train Station, you are obligated to turn right, go straight until the 4th stoplight, where you turn left (Piazza Tommaseo).
Take Via Canal Piccolo and continue straight until Corso Italia and, once you are past Piazza Goldoni, along Corso Umberto Saba until you arrive in front of Zenzero&Cannella B&B.
- From Lubliana, once past the country border Sezana/Fernetti, enter the SS58 /Strada per Vienna (not the highway) towards Trieste Centro/Opicina.
Follow signs to Trieste Centro along Via Nazionale and continue on via Fabio Severo.
At the stoplight go straight on Via Ghega and turn left on Via Roma.
Go straight to Corso Italia at the mandatory left turn.
Go straight on Corso Italia past Piazza Goldoni and enter Corso Umberto Saba.
In just a few minutes you will have arrived at B&B Zenzero&Cannella.
- From Capodistria/Koper stay on the highway and follow the signs to Trieste Centro, entering the elevated highway (SS202) and taking it to the end.
At the stoplight turn left and continue to follow signs to Trieste Centro, going along Viale Campi Elisi, Largo Irneri, Passeggio Sant‘Andrea, then along the sea.
Pass Piazza Unità (which will be on your right), turn right at the first stoplight (Piazza Tommaseo).
Take Canal Piccolo and go straight on Corso Italia.
Once past Piazza Goldoni, continue on Corso Umberto Saba.
In a short time you will arrive at Zenzero&Cannella B&B.
By BUS:
- Zenzero&Cannella B&B is easy to reach from anywhere in the city thanks to the many buslines that stop at Largo Barriera Vecchia and at nearby Piazza Goldoni.
In particular, busses 20 and 21 start and end their runs at Piazza Libertà (in front of the Train Station on the right side of the square).
From here you arrive in Largo Barriera Vecchia in about 5 minutes and after three stops (get off at the 4th stop).

- From the Trieste Airport – Ronchi dei Legionari, you may come to our B&B by Taxi, which you will find at the airport exit (you may also call and reserve ahead: 040 307730).
There is also a bus (number 51) which takes you to the Trieste Bus Station in 50 minutes and costs 8 euros.
From the bus station (next to the Trieste Centrale Train Station), take the number 20 or 21 bus which stops in front of Zenzero&Canella B&B.

Zenzero&Cannella B&B is located in the heart of the city, at Largo Barriera Vecchia n°15.
The area has stores for all needs, and along with Piazza Goldoni, has bus lines serving all parts of the city.
The B&B is in a secure building with two elevators and is easy to reach by car or public transportation from the nearby train station.
We are not far from Viale XX Settembre, a pleasant pedestrian area where you will find The Rossetti Theater as well as quaint caffès (including the famous caffè San Marco), Zenzero&Cannella is located at the foot of the hills of San Giusto and is a convenient starting point for the most beautiful areas of the city: Cittavecchia, a meeting place for young people and tourists thanks to the number of local bars and cafés, its vicinity to Piazza Unità d‘Italia, the shops of Corso Italia, the elegant pedestrian boardwalk along the sea, important landmarks, and historic cafés like Tommaseo, Caffè degli Spechi and Stella Polare.
The B&B is within walking distance of the Hospital (Opedale Maggiore).
