Casa Santicchio is a 16th century Tuscan Farm house, beautifully sheltered from the wind with a S.Easterly aspect, at 750m above sea level.
The 21 acre farmstead liesin a privileged position within the National Park of the Casentine Forest, with a rich and diverse Flora and Fauna, such as wild boar, many species od deer, hares,porcupines, wolves, eaglesand buzzards.
The house is situated right on the slopes of mont Penna on the Romea road, followed for centuries by innumerable pilgrims, who headed towords Rome, following the path from Camaldoli hermitage to the sanchiary of Chiusi della Verna.
Home of Saint Francis where he received his stigmate.
It is the ideal location for trekking and mountain biking.
The beauty of the farm and its surronndings also make it an ideal place for families with children.
The farm is surronded by woods througt which run numerous streams and waterfalls.
From a rock above the house there is a fresh water spring which supplies the house all its domestic needs.

We also have a small self contained appartment for five, with kitchen and bathroom.

The kitchen serves typical tuscan cuisine.
Among which ribollita (tuscan bread soup), wild boar tagliatelle, and home made ravioli and cappelletti.
All the food is cooked with localy grewn ingredients.
Above all the food is cooked with love.

The closest Airports are Florence, Pisa Bologna, Perugia e Roma.
By car the last part of the road leading the house is a gravel dirt road.
Some cars may have difficulty in climbing this road, in whith case give us a call from Rimbocchi or Bibbiena to tell us you are arriving and we will collect you with an off road veicule.
- From the NORTH:
Going the A14 at Bologna direction Ancona.
Exit at Cesena North then turn into the E45 direction Rome.
Exit at Bagno di Romagna, take the Passo del Mandrioli until Badia Prataglia where you see the turning for Rimbocchi on the left.
We are 2km ofter Rimbocchi towords Bibbiena.
- From the EAST:
Take the A1 exit at Florence south and continue to Pontassieve on SS70 over the Passo della Consuma.
Continue to Poppi then Bibbiena.
Followed signed to Chiusi della Verna.
Take a left fork signed Rimbocchi.
We are 2 km from Rimbocchi on the left.
- From the SOUTH:
Take the A1.
Exit at Arezzo and go up the valle dellArno on the Umbro Casentinese road to Bibbiena.
Go trough Bibbiena followed signs to Chiusi della Verna.
On the left you will find the turning for Rimbocchi.
We are 2km before Rimbocchi on the left.
By Train:
From Arezzo change to the Casentino train to Bibbiena, phone us from there.
By Bus:
From Florence, piazza della Stazione Centrale take the bus Autolinee Sita to Bibbiena, phone us from there.
