PALAZZO GUGLIELMO

Palazzo Guglielmo is sited in Vignacastrisi, a small village of Salento Region, in the area formerly called the "Contea di Castro" (the shire of Castro), at 2,5 km away from the Adriatic sea.
The palace was completely renovated in 2008 respecting its original features.
Guests can be hosted in four comfortable double rooms and two suites, offering all characteristic comforts of a de luxe hotel but with the exclusivity that only a private residence can offer.
Every room is equipped with an independent entrance from the inner courtyard of the palace, bath tub and shower, air conditioning and Wi-Fi internet connection.
To really enjoy the atmosphere we have decided not to equip rooms with TV.

We assure high quality and informal service.
Guests have at their disposal common open spaces that guarantee full independence and a relaxing atmosphere.
The outside facilities includes the swimming-pool, the internal courtyard and the big orange grove.

Inside common areas comprises the lounge room, where breakfast is served in the morning and three large hall are completely dedicated to the social activities with a small library, a lounge bar and a reading room, occasionally used for events.
And what is more, terraces, where you can taste aperitifs at the sunset, and cooking classes and wine tasting on demand.
The palace is located in the main square of the village.
You can find coffee bar, chemist‘s shop, supermarkets and restaurants not far away from the palace.
It is at 5 km far from Otranto and at 45 km from Lecce.


Palazzo Guglielmo comprises 4 double bedrooms and 2 suites to suit our guests every need.
Both rooms and suites overlook the inner court of the palace where there is a nice small table with two chairs for each room and suite.
Each room has its own private bathroom with shower and tub (some with jacuzzi), double bed, air-conditioning and heating.
The suites consist of two rooms: a room with a double bed and a room with twin beds in Fante Suite, a room with a double bed and a room with a sofa single bed in Simenon Suite.
The breakfast room:
The breakfast room is located on the ground floor and overlooks the inner court and the swimming pool.
It is also possible to have breakfast outside on the edge of the swimming pool.
The breakfast room is the best place for relax where you can listen to the music, read newspapers or a book sitting back comfortable sofas and armchairs.
Guests have always at their disposal a minibar for cold beverages (with fee).

The salons:
The salons are on the first floor and they are dedicated to entertainment for our guest: a reading room, a lounge-bar and a hall with a fireplace and some tables for having breakfast or for cultural events.
The terraces:
The terraces, located on the first floor, are the ideal to spend nice summer nights.
The garden and the swimming pool:
In the garden there are a 2000 square meters orange grove and a small swimming pool 10X4.

VIGNACASTRISI is a small village in the south of Salento peninsula at 2 kilometres from the Adriatic sea.
Vinearum Castren, its original name, turned into Vignacastrisi over the time, was named for the first time around the year one thousand when the Normans defeated once and for all the Byzantine rule setting up the feudal units.
So, the lands of a large number of farmhouses began part of Shire and Diocese of Castro, such as those of Vignacastrisi and the Capriglia farmhouse.
Around the XVI century it was built another point of defense: the Chiesa Parrochhiale dell‘Immacolata, a defensive church where people took shelter during attacks from the Ottamans.
In this part of the history you can find the authentic sense of the name of our small village: a real "defensive countryside", a Vigna-Castrisi.
